Lentil Stew & Punch ER Spain
February 2010
Back in Spain again for a short week.
Good to be away from the cold and snow in central Europe - sunny skies, albeit on the fresh side, but at 17 to 20 c still possible to be outside enjoying a cigar. Almond trees were blossoming.
Almost spring-like compared to German weather conditions.
Lunch again at blue collar "Meson El Yunque" with a first day menu of seafood soup and a lentil stew.
Crowded as usual, while smoking a PL Monte Carlo before lunch at the counter I noticed many customers arriving with pots to pick up the stew and carry it home. A real "down home food place" that I was lucky to have recommended.
Diego recommended the Punch ER Spain of which I got some back home to taste.
Only 8000 boxes made at 125 € each for a 10 ct box.
He gifted me a 2000 Millennium Salomones from his cellar that I will certainly enjoy.
Watched a car with one of those "nodding dog" toys on the rear window - nice dog, it was only after careful observing that I noticed it was real "live" dog ...........
Back to Germany, a grand Cohiba tasting is scheduled at Massimo's and then a big pharmacy cigar gathering before taking off for the XII Festival - my resignation has not been accepted by Mr Portmann, so once again it's :
Never again to Cuba, see you in Havana .......... :-))
Looking forward to this year's Festival surprises, experiences and stories.
